UTM builder

Create clean campaign tracking URLs without a spreadsheet. Existing query parameters are preserved and UTM fields are added or updated.

Input

Campaign fields

Output

Tracked URL

Example campaign

A newsletter link can use `utm_source=newsletter`, `utm_medium=email`, and `utm_campaign=product-launch` so analytics reports group the traffic consistently. Use `utm_content=hero-button` and `utm_content=footer-link` only when you need to distinguish links inside the same message. Test the finished URL before sending it.

Field guide

Source identifies where traffic comes from, medium identifies the channel, and campaign identifies the initiative. Term and content are optional details for paid keywords or link variants. The builder keeps unrelated query parameters and the fragment, while replacing any UTM field you enter so an old campaign value is not duplicated.

Privacy

URL construction happens in this browser tab. This page does not send the destination or campaign fields to a server. UTM values travel in the visible URL and may appear in analytics, server logs, browser history, screenshots, and shared messages, so never put names, email addresses, account IDs, or other personal data in them.

Tip

Write a small naming convention before a campaign launches. Lowercase, stable values such as `newsletter`, `email`, and `spring-launch` avoid separate report rows caused by `Email`, `email`, and `e-mail`. Keep a record of approved values, and do not rename a live campaign halfway through unless you intentionally want a new reporting group.
